Mike took photographs of the church where Leona's funeral took place. We wish to portray the mood of beauty and light surrounding our sweet Leona's goodby.

Treasure Box from the icehouse

I found this old, battered cardboard box when cleaning out the icehouse in August of 2009. There are many treasures inside.

This is the hair cut from Leona Walsh's head when she became a nun.

This is a letter to Frances Wolfarth, the mother of Emily and Leona before she was married. This letter is dated Thursday, May 8, 1919. Helen Carrier is writing and it contains information about working at Ordnance Plant Three (in Detroit) -- she said, "we make the recoil mechanisms for the 155 mm Fillonx rifles and Horitzers."

Family Visits

Leona and Emily have had many visitors at St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana. Frances and Kirk spent the weekend and Mike and Rachael were able to spend time on the 11th of May. It is expected Charlie and Karen will visit next. Leona has heard from many lovely friends, roses from a student, a sweet daisy bouquet and pretty card from Annie, Mary Mudd has written and more and more.

Here are Rachael and Emily outside Mother Theodore Hall where Leona is staying. They are taking good care of her and she has a bird feeder and rose bush outside her window.

Beautiful building.

The alpaca were sheared recently. Emily is knitting with wool from these lovely animals.
